Batubulan, for example, is a haven for antiques and the home of Made Jojol, quite possibly the island’s most famous master craftsman, while further up the mountain lies Celuk, famous for silver jewellery. The Club at The Legian or The Legian Bali makes an enviable base from which to indulge in numerous sessions of retail therapy. Jalan Laksmana, a short walk away, boasts numerous chic boutiques, including Maru, which sells beautiful handcrafted jewellery and accessories, while the Seminyak outpost of popular restaurant, Made’s Warung, has a retail section, offering ceramics by the renowned Jenggala to world-famous fashions by Milo’s and Bin. Most stores are conveniently open from 10:00 am till 8:00 pm daily, while the famous markets of Ubud, Sukawati, Kuta and Sanur offer marvelous venues from which to pick up that perfect objet d’art or collectible for your home.
