GHM - The Brand & The Portfolio

Established in 1992, GHM (General Hotel Management Ltd.) is known for conceptualising, developing and operating an exclusive group of hotels and resorts. With an intimate portfolio and more projects in the pipeline, GHM prides itself in providing guests with a distinctive lifestyle experience that is unrivalled.

Each GHM property is an original. The special relationship between the land and the local culture amongst which each resides enables GHM to provide guests with a genuine, close-up experience of the best each destination has to offer.

The signature GHM style is best defined as contemporary interpretations of Asian designs combined with distinctive local touches to create inspired, memorable spaces.

THE CHEDI CLUB TANAH GAJAH UBUD, BALI, INDONESIA

Spread over five hectares of elegantly landscaped gardens and undulating rice fields, The Chedi Club at Tanah Gajah features 20 standalone villas and suites designed in a traditional Balinese style of architecture combined with a contemporary flair. The once-private estate is located in the highlands – the ‘cultural heart’ of Bali – and mere minutes from the centre of Ubud.

The property was conceptualised in the early 1980s by prominent Indonesian architect and interior designer, Hendra Hadiprana as a secluded hideaway and weekend retreat for his family and friends. Each of the resorts villas and suites feature artwork from Mr. Hadiprana’s private collection – an art connoisseur’s delight.

In addition to 24-hour butler service, the resort’s facilities include a large swimming pool, tennis court and private open-air amphitheatre in which famous Balinese dance performances are held.

The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah’s location in the highlands – the ‘cultural heart’ of Bali – makes it the perfect complement to its sister properties The Legian and The Club at The Legian in trendy Seminyak.

THE CHEDI MUSCAT, OMAN

Located 20 minutes north of Muscat and a mere 15-minute drive from Muscat International Airport, The Chedi is an exclusive beach resort situated on the Boushar beachfront, where the shimmering waters of The Gulf mirror the glorious Hajar mountain ranges in the backdrop.

Designed in the style of traditional Omani architecture combined with an Asian zen, the property’s 158 rooms and suites as well as its public spaces exude an ageless charm. The Chedi Muscat’s facilities encompass a 103-metre swimming pool – the longest outdoor pool in the Sultanate of Oman –, a 350-metre long private beach, a luxury spa complete with 13 treatment rooms and three swimming pools, one of which is reserved exclusively for adult guests.

THE CHEDI ANDERMATT, SWITZERLAND

Located in the town of Andermatt – a crossroads between southern, northern and eastern Switzerland – The Chedi provides the ultimate year-round holiday destination with stunning natural scenery and an abundance of outdoor recreational pursuits.

Designed by Denniston International, the resort comprises 123 spacious guest rooms and suites. Jean-Michel Gathy from Denniston International designed the property, combining alpine chic with Asian features, apparent in the hotel’s 123 guest rooms and suites. Dining options include Western and Asian cuisine at The Restaurant, The Japanese Restaurant, The Wine & Cigar Library, The Lobby, The Courtyard, The Pool and The Bar and Living Room. The 2,400-square-metre Spa uses exclusive natural products from ila, REN and Alpienne and includes a state-of-the-art health club with a yoga studio, overlooking the stunning outdoor alpine landscape.

Tin Hotels

Tin Hotels is a mid-scale hospitality brand providing accommodation that is tasteful as it is affordable. It understands and reflects the lifestyle needs of its customers – one that demands breathtaking designs, the partaking of wholesome foods for one’s holistic well-being, a consciousness and appreciation of local art and culture, an awareness of the larger eco-environment – so that its product offerings and services connect each guest to these same ethos, creating a sense of belonging to the Tin Hotels culture.

GHM has partnered with van de Bunt Partners in a milestone agreement to launch Tin Hotels, a mid-market brand of accommodations set to revolutionalise the concept of lifestyle travel. The move into the mid-tier market by the luxury hotel operator was fuelled by both the travel preferences in the dominant consumers’ demographics, as well as by GHM’s recognition of marrying relevance and its expertise in the current market situation.

The concept for Tin Hotels is one that is intended to re-create the current conventions of hotel accommodation for the evolving traveller, to transform the current landscape and present a new distinctiveness to the act of travel. In a nutshell, Tin Hotels create spaces in specific destinations where travellers can stay and feel a sense of connection and belonging.
