With its classic Arabic hospitality, Sharjah is extremely welcoming of business and leisure travellers alike. Visa requirement vary depending on the country of origin. Visitors to Sharjah should check the current status for their respective country. GCC nationals (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and UAE) do not need a visa to enter Sharjah. Citizens from many other countries receive a visa upon arrival at the airport. The entry visa is valid for 60 days and can be renewed for a future 30 days at the immigration department. Visitors from countries not eligible for the automatic visa will need to apply before travelling. A transit visa (valid for up to 96 hours) is available to those travelling with confirmed onward booking on any international carrier to a destination other than that of their original departure. Please check with your local UAE embassy or visit the UAE Government website.
