Doha’s Hamad International Airport (DOH) is just 30 minutes (20 kms) by car from The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort.

Qatar welcomes citizens of more than 95 countries to enter visa-free for varying lengths of stay. Guests of The Chedi Katara are kindly advised to check Visit Qatar when planning their travels.

The Qatari Riyal is the only currency used and can be obtained through ATMs, widely available around Doha.

Arabic is Qatar’s official language and English is universally spoken here. Qatar is a Muslim country, however all beliefs are respected.

Travelling to Qatar is easy with Qatar Airways, regularly voted the World’s Best Airline. Within Doha, all types of transportation are available: underground metro, trams, airport taxis, boat taxis, public buses, and online ride services. Qatar’s desert climate ensures year-round sunshine. The best times to visit are from January to June and September to December. Average monthly temperatures range from 17°C in January to 36°C in July, sometimes reaching 40°C+ during the summer. More information can be found on Visit Qatar.

A service charge is typically added to the bill at most hospitality outlets in Qatar, and it is common to add a tip of 10-15% as a gesture of satisfaction. For tipping, it is advisable to carry Qatari riyal cash.

Visitors aged 21 and above will find government licensed restaurants and bars to serve them throughout Doha. Recent statements from the government indicate that some regulations may be relaxed for foreigners during the Qatar World Cup 2022, excluding the stadiums.
