Travel Information

Nearest Airport

There are two international airports from which you can enter Sharjah and both have similar distances to the hotel. Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) is 25 minutes drive from the hotel (16.6 kilometres) and Dubai International Airport (DXB) is also about 25 minutes drive from the hotel (17 kilometres).

Visa Requirements

With its classic Arabic hospitality, Sharjah is extremely welcoming of business and leisure travellers alike. Visa requirement vary depending on the country of origin. Visitors to Sharjah should check the current status for their respective country. GCC nationals (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and UAE) do not need a visa to enter Sharjah. Citizens from many other countries receive a visa upon arrival at the airport. The entry visa is valid for 60 days and can be renewed for a future 30 days at the immigration department. Visitors from countries not eligible for the automatic visa will need to apply before travelling. A transit visa (valid for up to 96 hours) is available to those travelling with confirmed onward booking on any international carrier to a destination other than that of their original departure. Please check with your local UAE embassy or visit the UAE Government website.

Language & Religion

Arabic is the official language of the UAE, although English, Hindi, Malayalam and Urdu are widely spoken. While Islam is the official religion, other religions are peacefully tolerated in the moderate UAE.

Transportation

For getting around Sharjah, we recommend a private car with driver. The Concierge team at Al Bait Sharjah can make these arrangements for you. Other options include ride services like Careem and Uber, and UberChopper for luxurious yachts and helicopters to zip around the Emirates in jet-set style.

Weather

When is best to alight on our enticing shores? From September through May daytime temperatures fall to relatively low 30s or below. Summer’s sunniest days happen between June and August when temperatures rise into the 50s degrees Celcius.

Tipping Policy

Our staff shares in the service charge included in all room rates. For guests who may wish to recognise individual members of our fine team, this is entirely at your discretion. Outside the resort, a 5 – 10% tip is not at all expected, yet sincerely appreciated.

Alcohol Policy

Sharjah is a ‘dry Emirate’ which means there are restrictions on alcohol service throughout the Emirate.
