AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCES

Sightseeing

Sharjah is a constant contrast, where modern metropolis meets desert mirages. Allow us to arrange your visit to traditional Bedouin camps and linger over a picnic lunch atop the dunes at Al Dhaid.

The UAE is not all about shimmering skyscrapers, shopping malls and super fast cars. Nature lovers should escape to Khor Kalba, an eco-tourism haven of creeks and mangroves. This birder’s paradise is home to the white-collared kingfisher, the Sykes’s warbler and Indian pond heron at different times of year (check UAE Birding for what to look for during your visit).

A gathering place for colourful luminaries of the contemporary art world, Sharjah is also home to Arabian leopards, pink flamingos and a hundred more exotic creatures at the Arabian Wildlife Centre. A wonderful way for children to understand the rich natural life of Sharjah is to visit the Children’s Farm where our littlest visitors enjoy getting up close to turtles, goats, ducks and donkeys too.

Decidedly more adult, the most romantic way to observe the ever-shifting sands of time in Sharjah is to board a traditional Abra at sunset, to admire the shimmering city lights of sky-piercing towers and the sparkling night sky above. On other evenings, head to the dessert to observe the night sky next to Fossil Rock Mountain or discover the stars and planets at the Mleiha Archaeological Centre.
